
Reuqest to change the name on the customer bill / account
If you want to change the name on your KESCO bill/account, you must address your request at the KESCO counters in your respective district.
The request to change the name can be done for various reasons such as: Moving out, death of the person in whose name the account is, selling your house, etc.
There are different types of name change requests and for all of these requests there are common features to consider:
- To change your account name, you must make a request to the Customer Care Offices in your area / residence. You can download the application form from the KESCO website, or you can get it at the KESCO counters.
- Along with the completed application form, relevant documents must be submitted, depending on the reason for making the application.
- To change the account name, the debt on that account must initially be zero.
- In all cases of name change, the new owners are obliged to sign a Contract for Electricity Supply. The link of the Electricity Supply Contract approved by ERO can also be found online. Link for household customers (Household contract) and commercial (Contract for commercial customers).
Below we have listed the most common types of requests to change the account name, as well as the documentation required in these specific cases:
Request for change of name in case of sale-purchase or lease of the object
1. Completed application form.
2. Notarized contract of sale-purchase or lease.
3. If the application is made by an authorized person, it is required to present the notarized authorization.
4. Business information (not older than 6 months) in company cases.
5. After verifying and completing the documentation, in order to proceed with the name change, it is required to complete the declaration of acceptance of responsibilities for the metering point and the supply contract.
Request for change of name in case the person who is a contractor with KESCO dies
1. Completed application (request) form
2. Death certificate of the person whose name is in the contract with KESCO
3. Family certificate
4. In cases of change of name from an older person to another person, outside the family relationship, relevant evidence of ownership is required where the metering point in question is located
5. After verifying and completing the documentation, in order to proceed with the name change, it is required to complete the declaration of acceptance of responsibilities for the metering point and the supply contract.
Request for name change between family members
1. Completed application form
2. Family certificate
3. Statement between two family members (current owner and potential new owner), who must be physically present or bring their notarized statements.
4. After verifying and completing the documentation, in order to proceed with the name change, it is required to complete the declaration of acceptance of responsibilities for the metering point and the supply contract.
Request for name change from a government / municipal entity:
1. Official request from the government / municipal entity.
2. Notarized authorization for the representative of the relevant body.
