KESCO Receives the Social Impact and Inclusion Award from CSR Network Kosovo
KESCO has been honored with the Social Impact and Inclusion Award, presented by CSR Network Kosovo, during a formal ceremony attended by representatives of local and international institutions, as well as members of the business community.
The award was accepted by Rudina Heroi Puka, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of KESCO, who emphasized that this recognition represents confirmation of the company’s long-term commitment to social responsibility, inclusion, and sustainable development.
“This recognition is not only an appreciation of our work, but also proof that social responsibility, when built with dedication and vision, creates real and lasting change in society. For us, CSR is not an additional function — it is the way we do business and build trust with citizens,” said Ms. Heroi Puka.
As a company supplying electricity to over 700,000 consumers in Kosovo, KESCO is present in every home and institution. This position gives the company a unique role and a great social responsibility — not only to provide electricity, but also to contribute to awareness, education, and the improvement of quality of life in the community.
KESCO’s commitment includes:
-
Signing the Women’s Empowerment Principles of UN Women, becoming the first company in Kosovo to make this public commitment to gender equality;
-
A leadership structure where 50% of the Board of Directors and over 70% of managerial positions are held by women;
-
Publishing a Sustainability Report, among the first in the energy sector, in line with international standards;
-
Investments in youth education, mentoring, and professional internships;
-
Support for women entrepreneurs and promotion of their products within the value chain;
-
Continuous awareness campaigns through energy bills and communication channels on social issues, including equality, the fight against violence, and health awareness;
-
Promoting energy efficiency and savings as a contribution to a more sustainable Kosovo.
In addition to institutional initiatives, KESCO employees contribute voluntarily through concrete activities such as cleaning public spaces, donating blood, supporting families in need, and practicing daily habits to save energy, water, and materials.
This award was granted by a professional jury, recognizing KESCO’s ongoing dedication to social responsibility and inclusion.
“This recognition belongs to our more than 240 employees, who contribute every day with professionalism and empathy to build a fairer company and a more inclusive society. It is an honor, but also a motivation to continue with the same commitment,” concluded Ms. Heroi Puka.
